New Lens

I bought Canon's 15mm 2.8 Fisheye lens a few weeks ago and have been playing with it a bit. Today, I had it at the sledding hill across the street from our home. Its a fun lens to have in the bag!

Family

I left snowy Idaho this last weekend for Laguna Beach, California, to photograph Michael Wilson's family. He and his wife just had their second kiddo who is just five weeks old! We started with some studio photos and then went for candids at a local park. Here are some of their images....

Turkey 2007

While my family didn't travel to see our relatives for the Thanksgiving holiday, we did have a few friends over. In the fall of 2005, Sunset Magazine ran an article on how to make a Southwest flavored Thanksgiving feast. My folks made it that first year the article ran. We loved it so much we went after it again this year!
The Saturday following Turkey Fest 07, I photographed the Popovich family for their holiday card. We had scheduled the session a few months back hoping there would be snowy mountains as a backdrop. It was 14 degrees when I arrived at their home and no snow. We opted for an interior shot. Immediately following their photos, it was a quick trip down-valley to the Jochums home for another family photo. Luckily, it had warmed up a bit by then.

Miller Family

This past Saturday I photographed the Miller family down at Silver Creek. The Miller's are a super cool family with interests in everything from hunting, fishing, and roping cattle, to teaching and fine wood working. Photographing at Silver Creek is always a pleasure. This little preserve which is managed by the Nature Conservancy has such incredible light during both overcast days, as was Saturday, to those golden sunsets and sun rises that cause you to stop and simply enjoy how special this area is.

Here are a few photos from their family portrait session...

Young Skate Punks

I took my kids to the skate park this morning. This was their second visit. Hailey has a really fun park with a full pipe. My son, Finn, was having absolute meltdown fits when it wasn't his turn to ride the skateboard. I grew up skateboarding and really like boardsports. It is really kinda funny to see Finn and Kaia on boards because my folks have been trying to get them into tennis and golf! We'll see which sports they choose!

Good Fall

The Wood River Valley is having great weather this fall. Just got back from riding Deer Creek. Really fun.
