Sarah & Pete came out to Boise this weekend as Sarah's little sister is graduating from High School. I'll be shooting their wedding this December, so I drove over to meet up and shoot some engagement photos. We had a good time walking around the city streets and found some fun and colorful backdrops. They brought their dog, Harley, out with them from Seattle--he is going to be one big bruiser of a lab, in a soft and cuddly sort of way! Here are some of their engagement photos...

Boise Engagement :: Michelle & Trevor
Yesterday I had the pleasure of spending the afternoon with Michelle & Trevor--two really fun and positive people. They had me down to Boise for dinner and engagement photos as I am going to be photographing their wedding in August. We ate at Bardenay and then hit the streets and parks on what turned out to be the hottest day Idaho has seen this year--95F at 6pm! Michelle and Trevor's wedding is going to be a blast. Their ceremony will be in one of Boise's city parks and then everyone is off to the Train Depot for the reception. I'm definitely looking forward to it!

Mark Your Calendar--Art Opening
Be sure to mark August 15th on your calendar as the Green Antelope Gallery in Bellevue will be hosting a reception for 10 of my prints. I've put two of the images below. "GAS," has come to be quite apocalyptic in the very different ways this word can be used: forecasting the ultimate destiny of the world; foreboding imminent disaster or final doom; ultimately decisive. There will also be a few of my "Ansel Adams-esque" landscape prints, like the Oak tree below, to help contrast the two types of images. If you are a Cormac McCarthy fan, I think you'll get what I'm saying with the images.
See you there!

Preparation
Last night I met up with Jeremy and Erika at their wedding spot to check out areas where the ceremony and reception might be held. Yesterday marked fourteen weeks before their wedding and seven before the Summer Solstice. So, all things being equal, the sun's positions yesterday should be in a similar spot to that of their wedding day.
Both of their folks met up as well at the ranch that their long time family friend, Cindy Ward, has graciously offered for their celebration. I stole Jeremy and Erika away for a few minutes to catch a couple of portraits. It'll also be fun to look back on some of the other photos and compare them with those from the wedding on 8.8.08--especially if they clean up and use the pole barn, which currently has an RV, sailboat, camper, Honda, and other miscellaneous ranch equipement!
Where's the sun? A bit overcast yesterday!
Cindy helping make the decision making process a little easier.
