This last weekend was spent down in Salt Lake City visiting with some great friends I made while up at school in Montana. We all met through similar interests in the outdoors and so the weekend was filled with climbing, skiing and exploring the salt flats west of SLC. Here are some of the pictures followed by a short movie I put together of an afternoon ski adventure in the Wasatch.

Galena Peak
Yesterday, Chris, Sean and I were able to climb Galena Peak in the Boulder Mountains. If you've ever driven over Galena Pass on your way to Stanley and stopped at the turnout--you've looked back at Galena. I've drooled over it's North face for years and yesterday got my first taste. It was yummy!

Two Crazy
A few years back, I met a lady at a kiddo play date. She had a one year old little boy and was pregnant with #2. After we figured out our kids shared the same birthdate and I told her that my wife was pregnant as well--with a due date within a week of hers, we laughingly asked what each other's anniversary date was with the weird feeling that we'd be seeing each other in the delivery room up in Ketchum in a few months.
Coincidentally, our strange premonition became reality! Our second born children were delivered only 8 hours apart (closer than the first set, but on different days). Yes, we do have photos of the ladies together in the hospital.
Tonight, we celebrated the 2nd birthday of our youngest kids. Here are a few pics of the gift opening ceremony...

Wedding :: Amy & Dave :: Sun Valley, Idaho
Yesterday, I spent three hours in Sun Valley with Amy and Dave shooting their wedding. The weather was a bit crazy with strong winds and wet snow, so we were kept inside for the most part. Their ceremony was held in the Lodge's 2nd floor dining room which, for their intimate group, was a nice alternative to the Sun Room. Here are a few images...

Soldier Mountain Cat Skiing
Yesterday I worked for one of my favorite magazines, Sun Valley Magazine, shooting an assignment on a local ski hill's snow cat backcountry ski operation. I know it is hard to say that shooting an assignment like this is "work!" I had never been cat skiing and would recommend it to any intermediate skier. The whole experience is the perfect mix of riding lifts and heli-skiing--super social on the ride up and incredible snow on the way down--without any rush! Larry & Kyle, a father son team, which manage Soldier Mountain Cat Skiing are two of the friendliest guys you'll meet and make the trip all smiles.
